Alright, one of the many fic related things I've mentioned I'd like to do this year is rewrite my first fic, but... better. At the time, it was way too much for me, and I can finally recognize that, especially considering there was a lot of plot involved, even if it's "just" a missing scenes fic. After all, there's a lot untold here, since we only get to see things from Nate's point-of-view.
One of the things that changed is that there's no way Honor Among Thieves can be one single story, since although these stories are connected in a way, they don't belong together. They'd do better as standalone stories that are part of the same series (bless AO3 for the feature). It's also the first time I'm really trying to focus on a plot and writing something longer (because I have no problem writing short things and all my fics are on the short side, after all. If this is a challenge, then I want it to be a challenge, damn it). So far, one of the fics should be a multichapter, with around four chapters. Sounds good, right? I'll try to write the whole thing before publishing, but no pressure.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with this. There's something about writing for ourselves-- because little to no one will be interested in it, which is okay, really--that's so freeing I can't even describe it. It feels good to do this for me, to explore my views on canon. And, speaking of canon, it also made me think a lot about characters/things I don't usually think about, such as:
( thoughts and prayers if you actually decide to read this )
